Tops or Lattus as they are traditionally called used to be the most loved and most sought after toys before the onslaught of plastic toys. You are lucky, if you have played with them in your childhood; do pass on that luck to the kids around you as well.

And if you didn’t play with the Lattus as a child, be a child now and play with the kids.

Hold the top from the top (!!!), wind the string around it such that you can hold the string between your fingers, hold the top in your fist and throw it such that the string unwinds.

The top will spin on the ground, if you are experienced enough, you may lift the spinning top onto some other object or even your hand, but be careful of the sharp edge at the bottom of the top.
